you need to add coolant to your radiator

thanks for that obvious answer....but the radiator is full. if it was that simple i wouldnt be on a forum asking for help
As you can see, I own an 88 Cougar, and I started having that problem too, but I didn't do anything about it, so the Heater Core went out on it. It's a very inexpensive part, but the Labor cost is crazy, mainly because of the time involved and what has to be done to replace it. The complete dash assembly has to come apart with special tools that auto mechanics keep on hand. Believe me I shopped around before a good friend of mine who is a retired mechanic told me what had to be done. Good luck!
