my guess is incorrect hookup for the speakers. You said you replaced original speakers, right? Ensure that your speaker connects are solid at the speakers, all speakers. Note which speaker lead is which on each speaker, + or -, write them down, make a diagram. Then trace the wiring from speakers, each one, going to the head-unit. Look over the head-unit wiring manual, match head-unit leads, + -, to each speaker, front L, front R, rear L rear R. Ensure tight connection. Ensure head-unit common ground connect to car is solid. Hope that helps, but if ya already did all the above, look for fuse in head-unit itself, some have two, one for power, one for speaker output. Some head-units have a control you need to tweak to play cd when inserted to bypass any other source playing at time.

that was another problem, the speakers that i bought are a little bigger then my old ones and if i try to put them in the backseat where the original ones where, theres a bar going across in my trunk & the new ones wont slide in there, idk im jus sick of this whole radio thing, but thnx 2 anyone who posts =)

Wal Mart isn't exactly an Audio expert. Most people there wouldn't know and amp from a qraphic eq. You can make something out of partical baord. not to meantion the fact that will help give you a crisper sound.
on the back speakers, on the left you have two blue and the lighter one is -(ve) and the dark is +(ve).
The other side yellow -(ve) then brown +(ve). Use the wire your speakers came with and attached the tracer (with the white stripe) to the lighhter coloured one in each case. Cant remember the coulours for the front but it's usually lighter is -(ve)

yeh, mounting te speakers is less important than getting your sound out to them.Unless your new head is gone west, are you using the original factory wiring harness [speakers] and tapping in? Man, I dunno.

if you want an idea I'd reccomend Haynes Xtreme Sport Compact Customizing manuals.
There's one for performance, one for customizing and one for in car audio, the customizing one has a small section on making speaker boxes out of that fiber board. so try audio I assume there's a more in depth explanation in there.

that's a list of all 3. that's my 2 cents
