This is a poll taken from the Canoe Media website. It controls the "SUN" newspapers in Canada.

CANOE Poll
The University of Calgary will be offering a course in writing spy and spam software this fall. Is this a good idea?

__ Yes.

__ No.

__ Not sure.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I personally don't think it's a good idea ... and what will be the final exam ... launching nukes by hacking into the US Department of Defense computer (ie. "Wargames" movies) :disappoin

No is a good idea; however having done some programming, you have to know how to make the bugs/spyware in order to know how to stop them. So a better choice would be a class in detecting and stopping spyware, etc. You'd weed out alot of troublemakers that way.

Absolutely a good idea. If you can't write the code - how the fuck are you going to write the code to solve it?

werd. man more power to em. we've got so many spam blockers and spyware detectors these days chances are they're just wasting their time. Furthermore, you really have to be effecient in programming to ACTUALLY make any spam, spybot, viruses, etc. of any use at all in any way. A one semester course would be enough to teach someone the very basics of programming, not how to use specific algorithms to covertly sit on a computer n stuff.
