Hi,
I was wondering what could be causing the temp gauge to fluctuate? I mean it would go to the middle where it is suppose to then it would go back down to 'C'. When I start driving it will start slowly dropping an d when I idle it would rise. What could be the cause of this? Please let me know. Thanks.

yea i got the same problem. On the ecu read out it was sendign a code sayign that there was a tempatre surcuit poblem and then i found out it is eather the water temp sensor which is a easy fix and cheap or the thermostat which means u have to rip off the whole front end. How ever i would just change the water temp sensor and see what happens. not only that if it goes up and down it is mroe than likely the water temp sensor

it is behind the engine in the dead center it has a 4 wire harnes that goes to it. just take it out and clean it with a wire brush and clean the connectors and sensor with carb cleaner and it will fix the problem. it has for me with many cars. good luck!

The old style ECT is black, the new updated one that helps prevent corrosion is green. There a pain to replace because of the space you have between the sensor and the firewall. Very common problem with these to fail.
