Rear brake problem

Just replaced rear shoes on 2001 Rodeo and shoes are tightening up while driving. I`ll find which one is tightening and back it off and after driving it a while, it or the other side will tighten up again. The manual says self adjusters adjust when backing up and braking. Is the shoes tightening up every time I back up and apply the brakes? Whad I do wrong ???

Sounds almost like you may have the adjusters on backwards. The adjusters do indeed tighten in reverse, to compensate for wear during normal driving.

I can't remember of the top of my head, but I *think* that the gear should be farther toward the back of the vehicle...but check the manual to be sure.
