"I think I can send some good news to all about the release of the EVO7. I work for a mitsubishi dealership and have just spoken to our DPSM on friday. I can tell you this.

The car is coming!
It will be released in Jan 03'.
There will be a commercial for the EVO7 at the next Superbowl!
It will be price around $28!
It will be more then 250HP!

If you are looking for a good deal on one, forget it!! Dealer are going to mark then up. Not to much, but enough. Even though I work for a mitsubishi dealer, I am still going to pay about $500 over MSRP. which is fine by me! My GM has promised me the first one off the truck, but I will not be able to drive it home for about 30 days. It will stay in the showroom and there will be no test drives. Not even the salemen get to drive it. We dont have a big dealership, so we will probably only get 2-3 EVO's. But I will be the first to get it here.

BTW: If the dealership is going to allow for test drives, I would wait for the next one to arrive. You know what everyone is going to do to that car!"

Yea, all that information is correct. I've also been talking to one of the bigger Mits dealers in my area. I'm workin on getting my deposit in, so I can be first in line when these roll off the truck. :)

Right now, I'm just soaking up all the information I can. I've been researching the Evo for about a year now.

again this is the same information from the press release........so its not new, news. Except for the superbowl commercial.

D6Syxx, you need to lighten up; blackevo is right, the only news that was in your post was the info on the superbowl commercial (I have a great idea for the song; domingo brothers' 'right here, right now').

the point is this; the bulk of that information was posted on this site and others starting in early january. Hate to burst your bubble, but it's true. it's also the reason I haven't been around this forum lately. I have the money, I just need the car, and I want to know when it will be here and for how much, everything else is just details. And please try not to get upset, but it's not a good idea to brag about your grades at 16; Einstein flunked out of school, and I personally know several people who graduated near the top of their classes both in high school and university and couldn't make ends meet (I also know mediocre students who are phenomenally wealthy and never went to college). the grades comment is a null value. prove your worth by what you say and how you say it (and what you do, etc).

This is not to get you worked up; I know how touchy you probably are, just some advice (feel free not to take it)

and blackevo: don't torture the kid, he was only trying to spread some info. that should be encouraged, as long as it's not just wild speculation and rumor.

Visited my local dealer today...

I am not sure if the guy knows his a$$ from a hole in the ground, but here is the info I was able to obtain. They are going to be recieving their shipment on Dec 28. The sticker proce will be $32,000. Now this is where I am confused, he also stated that it would be packed with 350hp. Now I asked just to make sure that he didn't mean to say 250, but he insisted 350. Well hopefully the other information is correct.

Also, I dont know if this is common knowledge or not: The Evo VII and VIII are the same car, they are just not sure what they want the american version to be called. While I was there they recieved a fax saying that it would be called the Evo VIII. He told me that they cannot make up their minds.

is the 32k price comes fully option and everything? cause if it doesn't than that's pretty expensive.

$32,000 was the price for a fully loaded model.

Anyways, we will only really know what the "REAL DEAL" will be when it actually arrives and goes on sale at the time of "half time" of the next Super Bowl, LOL

But, 32k seems way stupid and so does 28k even when it gets marked up as did the WRX when it went on sale. I am holding on the belief it may be sold at 25k fully loaded (GS-R) and 21k for the RS, coz it has to compete as it has been said before.

You tell me what dealer is going to sell them for $25k and I am ready to buy now. Just like you said, you are holding on a belief and I am hold on the quote from the sales manager at Woodson Mitsubishi. You tell me what sounds more likely, your belief or my quote. Just like you siad we wont know until your Jan superbowl (which is when the commercial comes out) or on Dec. 28 when my dealer gets theirs on the truck, which sounds a little more promising. (that a retorical question, we really don't need your answer). By the way, your Bu!!$hit was not at all intresting. Thank you and come again.

I have an EVO VII GT-A, which was more expensive (fully loaded) than the GS-R... and it ran me about 31,000 here in Japan... so unless they put a lot of plastic into the car and make it a piece of shit... which they may do to place it in an affordable category.. which will mean losing the AYD for a bigger gas tank.. stuff like that will make the car a lot cheaper..

BTW... I love my car and have never had a tiptronic before cause I thought they were soft.. until I got my EVO!! I was very impressed at its responsiveness.. I thought I would have been upset, but I was wrong. It has a lot of power and it is still ridiculous to drive... The handling is better than ANY vehicle I have ever driven.. including a wrx sti... it is way overated!!! that 50/50 power distribution is nothing to the EVO's ACD and AYD... no comparison!

and yes, i will be importing to the states for street use...

WTF!?! 25k for the GSR?! you must be smoking some REALLY great crack, 'cause thats just a LITTLE BIT more than what it costs in japan. I hope you aren't holding your breath waiting for the evo to come over that cheap... Its gonna be at LEAST 30k if you include tt&l. I would say 31-32k including tt&l for a decently optioned one. I doubt we are even going to get the Rs version as well. It wouldn't sell well here at all. americans want gadgets, which the rs is almost totally devoid of. you wouldnt even be able to get a fully loaded WRX (non STI) for 25k.

Dude I hope it comes here in January cause I am getting one for my first car. And as soon as I get it I am putting a huge sound system in it cause that is what it's all about. Well that and what is under the hood. And the price range I think is going to be $25,000 to $33,000. When you think about it, look at all the shit it has on it. It comes with all aftermarket parts on it that are top quality, so figure it's not going to be some cheapy. I would think it would run right with the Lexus IS 300 price range. I can't wait until it comes here. Mine will be fully loaded.
