Got an engine to build up!

My friend picked me up an engine at the junkyard to build. Long block w/ no intake manifold, no cams, no valvecover, no exhaust manifold, and some rust on parts of the engine. Well first thing I did was crack it open from both ends. The rotating assembly looks great. I get 0.010" of play from side to side on the rods. But I don't get any play from top to bottom. Next I popped the head off. There was some rust on the cylinder walls, but I got most of it off with just Marvel Mystery oil. The intake valves have some rust on them as well as the buckets for the valves. No scoring on the cylider walls. No metal shavings in the oil pan. Finally found out where the PCV valve is. Well this is no overnighter, but hopefully I can get this thing close to done by the time I leave for the Navy. Plans are just whats included in the HP engine kit on www.boostdesigns.com . Sorry no pics yet. And that fuggin flywheel is a heavy bitch for its size.

IDK. Tryin to get the weight down for MEPS right now. They say if everything goes as planned, I'll be leaving around August. But you know how they are. That means they don't know either.

yea i have no problem with my meps...i run the 2 mile run in 13 1/2 minutes (15 min max) and im 5' 10" 150lbs...and i bench 220lbs...so i beefy and light...so the army likes me...i go to meps here in about a week and half..then to boot camp in about a month and a half...hopefully

I run the two mile in like 17 minutes and I bench about 240lbs. They still say I'm overweight. I'm 6'0" and weigh 212lbs. They're gay.

im 6'1" 190 and can bench 230, does that make me overweight too?
havent really timed myself in the 2 mile, but i've been playing soccer all my life and made the varsity team freshman year, so im hoping i can do pretty well in it.

I am 5'10' and weigh about 150 lbs and plan on going to the service soon also. Oh and i don't know how much i can bench. I think the fastest mile I ever did was as a freshamn in 5 min 30 sec.

shit im just a kid, then again i am only 15. Im 5'7" and wiegh 135. and i can only bench like 130.

I'm a hair under 6'4, 185, i dunno how much I bench, I can do like 200 reps of 50lbs lol, I'm strong for a guy who never works out lol, but I have no endurance, I run for like 45 seconds and I pass out...or almost...

The long block ran me $122 and I didn't have to even leave my house. Not in the greatest shape, but I like to have something to tinker with. I'll probably either go back to the junkyard and scavenge some parts or order off ebay. I may give the Boostdesigns intake manifold a go.
