I am having a problem with white primer bleeding through some green paint (Testor Boyd bright green pearl). Should I use grey primer OR just use Tamiya mica green?

I think that color is transluscent, so you paint it over a basecoat to get the pearl effect

I thank you are right. the paint is green with flakes in it. I will give it a try over a green basecoat.

Applying pearl paints over white primer is my preferred choice. White makes the color "POP". Testors is bad about pulling from panel lines, etc exposing the primer beneath.

Try building up several light mist coats before applying your heavier color coats. That should minimize your problem, as will more coats of paint.

Never had this problem with pearl paints other than this damn green. It does pull from the panel lines bad. The color might be to light. Hey Mark did you see my gallery? Let me know what you thank? Thank you.

I don't really like testors paints. They are either too thck or too runny... they also don't have enough pressure in the can. I also sometimes have a bubbling problem that I don't have with tamiya. :screwy: I think tamiya is a lot better.
