over the past several days I have had a recouring problem starting my explorer. I would turn the key and get nothing. dash would dim, maybe a click from the solenoid. maybe not. I would wait a second, try again and the car would start right up in 2 sec. after a few days I would have to move the shift level back and forth and then it would start right up. Now It won't start at all. the clock resets, dash goes dim, domelight dims, car door open gong sound weak but only when I rotate the ignition cylinder to start. what have I got, neutral switch problem, ignitin switch problem or some other problem? any and all help is greatly appreciated.

My gosh, can you believe it! All I had to do is replace the battery! What happened to the days when your lights would dim and the starter would just go slower and slower to let you know the battery is failing. I saw a small thread in another forum about a situation similar to mine and I figured it might be time for a new battery whether it was the cause or not. Lo and behold everything is perfect. Just thought I should post this follow up in case someone else has a similar quandry.
