Has anyone heard of a Profile California amplifier? I'm looking to get a cheap one to start out with but I want to know if its worth the money. I'm only going to power one sub for about a year or two. I'm then going to install two subs with a Sony xm-2200gtx, does anyone have some tips on these? thanks for your help

dont go with the XM-2200GTX, the guy at the local install place said that the XM-DS1300P5 hits harder than that one but of course thats what he thinks and i believe it because i have heard both amps and the P5 sounds better, well thats my opinion. as for the other amp i have never heard of that brand so i dont know what to tell you.

Why not just save up for something decent in the beginning? Those Profiles suck and the Bazookas aren't much better. Remember, you always get what you pay for.
New? try the Xtreme d500. It is a 500watt mono amp that seems to work great with lower wattage subs.

I've got the older version of the Profile California (White with red LED) that I use to power a couple of 6x9's. It was a good deal, and is certainly better than using the receiver to power those speakers, but I don't think it's powerful enough for a sub.

I'm trying to find an amplifier on ebay or something.
I'm looking for either one of these two things
200 watts rms X 2 @ 4ohms
or
400 watts rms X 1 @ 2ohms
If anyone could give me some ideas on these amps, greatly appreciated.
PS I'm trying to find a rockford fosgate preferable, those are expense but I 've heard they are the best.

Not really. I don't personally like Fosgate stuff but that's just me. Directed make this Extreme line that has a 500wx1 amp that you might like. It is called the 500d. Take a look www.directed.com

For a budget system, go with the Profile. They put out decent power for cheap.
For quality go for a JL 500/1

Yeah, we've covered them on many other threads. Personally, just about everything from Sony sucks anymore.
