Dumba$$ lawyer

alright not to offend lawyers but heres my story.... so i dont know if u all remember i crashed my car back on thanksgiving well i got reckless driving which would kill my insurance and my liscence... well i hired a lawyer to take the case so i could reduce the ticket and save me money...so my lawyer goes to the first court date in january and pleads not guilty... by the way i forgot to mention he was recomended by a good friend of my parents i was told he works miracles by this guy.. so anyways i call his office .... no word... i call again and they say he will call me when it is all over and done with and not to worry about it....so i say w.e ya know figure its all being taken care of i paid him already so i let it slip of my mind somewhat... and i was also told that i would get a letter from the courts saying when my new court date is and i was told to disregard it that i didn't need to show up to the new court date either....but i never got a new letter from the courts but didn't pay much attention cause i figured it didn't matter anyways i didn't need to be there....well tonight i get the mail and theres a letter from the court.. i have x amount of days to pay for the ticket because i failed to show up in court or there will be a warrant issued for my arrest and all that bullsh*t..... so i call my lawyer... no answer so i left him a message and thats where i stand ... needless to say i'm PISSED i am trying to fix my car and get it driveable again because i have been without a car now for a month or so and now i am ready to kill my lawyer .... gateway i know ur a lawyer is there something i missed here that i am going to have a warrant out for my arrest if i dont pay and i still havent gotten a call from my lawyer....

i'm just an insurance agent, so I can't help ya there. what state do you live in? sometimes you can take a defensive driving class and then it will wipe a ticket off your record. check into that.

Yeah, i'd say sue the lawyer...but umm...that's like punching a lion in the face...ur gonna get eaten...cut ur losses..pay up..and take the course is about ur best route. That sucks though dude, sorry to hear it.

ya - it does suck but i had i know of a situation like that - an i know for a fact that even though u have a lawyer it doesnt mean you goin to be good to go - they are just basically payed to try an depress the highth of the charges against u they are not there to tell you when u court date is frankly not being a dick but dude why didnt u call the court an say hey - is it manditory for me to be there an they will tell u the correct answer being that they are the place ur suposed to be u know what i mean... if u confront the lawyer - the asshole will prob. just say hey i am here to deal with ur tickets not keep track of when ur are suposed to be here or there... i had a case where i didnt get my new court date in the mail an i called after a week cause it kinda was fishy like what happend to you dude. an luckly i caught it - cause that same night i had court @ 630 an wasnt sent shit - so if i were u - i would call the court an tell them what ur lawyer told u - that he said not to worry about it - then call him an say hey u told me not to worry about goin an now i got a warrant out for my arrest an see what happens - duck low from cops an shit till u find out what happend u might not have to pay the warrant if there was some sort of mistake - cause in reality it is the courts job to send u stuff about your new date an then again they will say if u didnt get anything u should of contacted the clerk....

i am dealin with court myself - tickets that were written out of me driving a car i didnt own or have never driven an - on top of that i was at work - its 2 driving while revokes 1 wreckless 1 careless 1 improper passing 1 passing of a school bus might be something else but the shit has been stressin me out -cause i didnt do it an i had to post warrants for something i didnt commit- the court systems blow dude...

well not really - the judge likes to hear things like oh i am a completely different person now an i am willing to do this an that to help my self be even better ... say your honor - i was wonder if I took a D-Driving class would that help me out in anyway i just want to put this stuff in the past an move on with my life... alot of the times the judge will agree to u takin the class an lowering your summins by u bringing them the certificate they give you when u complete the class... also if ur in real deep shit any time volunteer to do community service to help do good for the community in which i live - even if you dont want to the judge will look at u as a good person that is tryin to better yourself an he will 90% chance go easyier on you.
