I don't know about a fuse yet but, check behind your engine and look down at your transaxle and see if there is a connector loose. Hey it is what fixed mine. The guy said some how my shifter cables pull it out or when I got new cables they put it out.

i never heard about a fuse for that, but check your "speed sensor connector", is really hard to see it because it's just under your intake manny on your tranny, so you may have to remove your battery, and try to see if it loose or not, i had the same problem, but in my case the speed niddle was jumping from 45 to 90 mph and doing strange things all the time, and that was because of my speed sensor connector.

mine on my old car done that and they checked it and said it was a little gear behind the tranny that wore out...they had to take out the tranny and put the gear in it...pretty pricey too...not the gear just the labor the gear was bout 30$...bullshit

There is no fuse. I would do as people suggested and check that connector. To be more specific, ona 2g its "inside" the rear tranny mount. There is a little plastic gear that mates with the front diff that could wear out, but that has to be pretty rare... 1Gs use a mechanical setup, so there is an actual cable going from the tranny to the dash.

Now that I think about it, I think the speed signal goes to the ECU, and the ECU drives the speedometer. So it could be a wiring issue there too. I cant be sure of that though. I know on the 1Gs, the cable drives the speedo, and the speedo has a magnetic or optical counter that sends the signal to the ECU.

I found a fuse under the dash for the gauge cluster. When I removed it the entire cluster went out (including the odometer). If I remember correctly, the power windows and locks went too. Check under the dash.

There is no fuse for it. If you would look above people have said that. Yes by pulling the fuse out some lights will probably go out, but that is normal. The operation of the speedo is not related to a fuse. And...it is irrelevent that the odometer went out, as that is not really the issue at hand.

I believe when my electrical went out, everything in the gauge cluster did not work, except for the speedo, leading to the thought that is has nothing to do with a fuse.

I know for a FACT that there is a fuse that controls, amung other things, the operation of the odometer.
