At least set your computer to update automatically. You might as well throw it out the window if you're not going to update it. It's going to be full of viruses and spyware.

Yeah windows isn't the most stable or protected OS out there, not by a long shot. You should always update it just like you would for a virus protection software. I mean if you were running dial-up internet, you'd at less risk than a high speed access; but still. One of my friends didn't update her computer with anything (windows or virus protection) and she ended up having a back orifice (sp?) on her computer...which reminds me I have to call her and make sure she did something about that. But she's running AOL dial-up, and that's supposed to have it's own spyware and virus protection :thumbsdow

the best thing you can do to protect your computer from bullshit is go into your internet options, go to privacy, then click "advanced" and accept first party cookies, and block third party cookies. Ever since I did that my computer has been perfect and I never get pop ups or nothin.
