starting problem....

well im pretty new to the mechanical side of bikes i've been riding for 11 yrs but never had to trouble shoot myself. i tried starting it today it sat outside for about 4 days no riding 2 days rain was'nt around to cover it.
when i first tried starting it, it kinda jumped a little forward, then it just sounded kinda like the starter was locked up with a hard click. i have never had a dead batt. in a bike could this be what it is.....what does it do when the batt is dead, i know a car will wind a little ....any help please thank you

ohh and how would you go about jump starting a motorcycle

sounds like a flat battery. to jump start is the same as any car. be careful if either is fuel injected or has a engine management system. then you should use special jumper leads which inhibit surges

jumped it and it ran fine until some lady ran a stop sign yesterday and i went from making a left turn at 45 to the pavement and destroted my bike, then she hauled a55 out of there before i could get a plate #, sorry still bitter. but thanx for the info

well i slid mainly on my bum and hand i was already pretty low from turning just bruised and cut my gloves got kinda messed up but i cant even sit to 5h1t. as for the bike ahhhhhhh! atleast i heal for free
