I bought a 1988 LE Supra awhile back and recently started driving it. recently it started syphoning collant out of the resevoir. I changed the radiator, resevoir and a few hoses with all new ones. However its still syphoning coolant. I asked a mechanic what the problem may be and he said that I have a bad Head gasket. I was just wondering if I should take his word on it. And whether I should keep driving it in this condition until I can afford a new HG or try and find anothr ride for the time being.

Head gaskets go all the time on mk3s. Its prolly the head gasket. Is it a non turbo? If so they dont go AS much

a blown headgasket is a definate posibility, but look at the simple things first..how much coolant are you loosing? does the car blow any white smoke? is it a turbo?
have your mechanic do a leak-down or pressure test to find out for sure if you have a blown headgasket..
If you do, i suggest NOT driving it you will cause further, more severe engine damage and it will cost a lot more to fix..

Before you do a HG try to tighten down your head bolts, when I was doing by bhg I noticed that my headbolts were loose. Since I hade bought all the gaskets and new ARP studs I just went ahead and did the gasket. By just checking your bolts you could save hundreds of $$$.
