timing 22re

trying to time an 8922re. Which mark on the timing chain cover do I use. I also keep seeing that check connectors have to be shorted. What does this mean?

Get a repair manual, you do have to short out connectors in the computer box, if you don't get a reply on how to do it I can look it up, but get a book! Also pull the valve cover and inspect the timing chain guides in the front for wear, very important.
