My car has a cat that is stopped up and I need a new one. It's to the point it has to be done within the week.
I was browsing ebay when I saw this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33629&item=7931889374&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V
Now it seems extremely cheap and an easy way out. My only concern is the "Sensor Bungs." O2 sensor deletes right?
My question is has anyone tried this? Was it a success or is this a scam and a disaster waiting to happen?
Please reply soon cause I plan on buying something within the next day or two.

It seems pretty legit to me, although you might want to purchase the converter and have it installed by an exhaust shop to save yourself some stress. Not all exactly sure how much that would cost in your area.

$34.95? with the rating of the guy I don't see a problem. Just wonder how long this thing will last..
The best converters for performance are made by Random Technologies, if you are looking for power. If you are looking for a cheap way out that ebay listing might do it...

What if I cut it out completely? What will have to be done to make the car run correctly with the O2.

Go here http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/o2sim.html. They have an O2 sensor simulator that should work if your wanting to remove your cat.

Removing the converter isn't CARB or EPA legal, but if you're wanting to wing it, you could always get one of those O2 simulators as mentioned above, or you could get a threaded fitting, and have it welded into the straight pipe that you use to replace the converter itself, and it will function normally.
