just something I've been wanting to do for a while with my car. Its something that won't happen for a while down the road but I'm just daydreaming. I'm really attached to my car and would rather totally redo it than buy something else even if it costs more. Its got a 3.8 now...and I'm wondering how difficult a swap would be, and what engine(s) would be best. I had trouble finding info and figured you guys might know, or point me in the right direction...thanks

you can run a search of the forum (like slack-ass 97 suggested) or i will give a little info.
the v-6 to v-8 swap is no easy task. its time-involved and not really cost effective. we have stated many times over that it would, in the end, be cheaper to sell the v-6 and buy a v-8 car. however, if you are stubburn an just want to do the swap for shits and giggles itll cost upwards of 10 grand. thats a very rough figure and would vary depending on where/how you get your components. the list of parts required for the swap is lengthy and the heavy on the wallet, but the swap is extremely possible. if you want more indepth info, start doing your homework. search this forum and the web to see what you can scrounge up...

As chevyracingcamaro said, it really depends on who you get your motor and tranny from. Its possiable, and to do little by little could possiable take a month, which isnt bad. for the swap you need the motor and tranny, wire harness and a new k member, thats to get it running and funtional, if you want it stable you gonna need some better shocks and springs. heres a site that shows day by day and what he put on and took off which took just a month or a little under. http://www.dxsoftware.com/magnus/v8swap.htm

it is really a difficult task, i am doing it my self. but the engine that i have in my 95 camaro has a 3.4 in it. i am build a 383, after taxes in will cost about 2500. then i am spending about 5000-6000 dollars in suspension upgrades, ignition, and everything else that is needed. go to summitracing.com and do a search for camaroguy04's garage and take a look at some of the parts that are needed to do this. i live with my parents that is the only reason i can do this, also some of the parts are in the trash can, cause i have bought some parts. also keep in mind that if you have echeck in your county or state you will have to get your car echecked, that is my biggest problem. GO LUCK
