Help, Help, Help. I have a 1990 35th Anniv. Supercoupe. v6 3.8 supercharged. Recently, my transmission seems to have died. I cant get my car past into 1st gear from idle without getting vibrations coming from the floor panel. Once I get my car past 1st gear it runs fine, but I dont want to make the problem worse. Any advice? Help!!!

Need more info. Is this a manual trans.? If so, are you saying it vibrates when you engage the clutch?

Sounds reminiscent of a clutch slave cylinder. But, as stated, which tranny is it?

Thanks for replying. I have an automatic transmission. Sorry if my message was confusing before. When I put the car in drive the car seems to slip a gear, then there is vibration and then the car moves. Once the car moves into a higher gear it seems fine. I was thinking that it might be my differential, or some sort of linkage problem. What do you think?

Check your fluid level when the tranny is normal operating temp. If it's low, it can do what you are describing.

I have tried your suggestion. My fluid is not low and it is also very clean. Any other ideas? :banghead: Thanks for the help.

How are your motor and tranny mounts? This could also cause it. I am not a tranny expert so when it comes to internal issues, I can't be a big help.

The mounts all seem normal. Thanks for trying to help.
