the RX-8 is crap anybody can smoke those torque-less peices of crap and the gts's aren't far behind. But the sti was a reasonable win. if it was from a stand still it would be a different story. But good job none the less

i hate those gsr t celicas i always have them running up on me like they wanna race, but them wrx's are fast as hell... the all wheel drive ones aint no joke from a stop! they hook up nice but after i start spraying im gonna race one

and whoever said something about the rx-8, it was definately a slow ass p.o.s., obviously the STi hung on for a second before failing miserably, i saw the driver getting mad as helllllll when i started pulling on him, and we wont even talk about the lexota.

I hope you mean the STi, because while I've never had a race with one a guy i know has a lightly modded WRX (i know he has BOV, exhaust, tuning, dunno what else). His WRX lost to my friends bone stock 97 GTP.

Well i'm not advertising it as a v6, in third gens there was a v8 rally sport, i had a 305v8 in it. so that's why i have the rally sport badges, and plus i'm proud to have a rally sport, i don't think there should be any reason i should put z28 or iroc badges it's just a hooked up rally sport. :evillol:

stis and evos suck top end... anything all wheel drive does, so from a roll you have an advantage, 05 gts.. ive seen one runnin 13.6s stock and it was an auto... the gto.... ehh there ok.... i raced one.. the kid was an asshole.. the first time i saw him he tryed racing me in the rain fuckin idiot... ooh but i caught him at a light a few days later

Its rear wheel drive. It has the same powertrain as the Vette.

the gto is basically the vette, with a pontiac body, and crappier suspension...

check out gm high tech performance mag, they got a 13.4 out of the 04 goat, which isn't pushover at all... the 05 is gonna have 50 more hp, so that will be even more impressive of a car... plus there are rumors of a "judge" model...

Hi last week I guess it was a wrx it was the 4 door blue with the wing I have a 95 z28 well the light changed and I heard the turbo kick in we came out of the hole together but my tires smoked about 5 car lengths before I got traction by that time it was too late to catch em any sugg on preventing that from happening , like would increasing the rpms with the brake on before green.

Please start a new thread rather than cause a topic change in the future but get some better times and do be so quick on the draw. Practice your launches. Burn out might be fun but traction wins races. If you have a stick don't launch too high in rpms and with a auto don't gas it all the way at once. Give it a nice stab then once your at 15-20MPH floor it. Good Luck and remember practice makes perfect but your never going to get the jump off the line when dealing with a awd car but if you stay with him in the beginning they die out quick on top end.

FYI: um the GTO is the Morano from Aussie? Its been out for like a few years and they jsut added the Hood scoops and called it a GTO practically. Anyways its a 400hp beast...that smoke the 05GT in everything...by over a 1/2 second 0-60 ,1/4 and something else but who wouldnt expect that with 100 more HP.

so it more a combination of gearing and torque? than h.p. , I see the infinity fx has something like 450 hp maybe less but the torque blows.

:confused: , for some reason i thought the gto had 350hp, i was unaware it had the 6.0 liter in there like the vette, am i safe in assuming they only made v8 gto's like the corvette?

yup, gto's do not come in a v6 model

I love these cars. One day my buddy in his honda civic tried passing me cuz i was goin the speed limit. He floored it and got into the left lane and I let him get about 1/2 a car length ahead of me before opening her up. The instant I downshifted I was already going faster and soon enough I could see the shameful look on his face. I love the sound of a 4bbl when it opens up hehe.
