I was looking through some old posts and I can't find what I'm looking for so I figured I would ask. I was wondering if an auto to manual transmission swap is tangable or is it out there in difficulty. I am trying to get a 2g GSX and I want a manual but I think the price might be rght on this car so if i could swap it'd be nice. PS could i swap my 1g tranny? Just a thought.

Go to dsmtuners.com click on tech articles and go into the drivetrain modifications title. There you will find a post about exactly the same type of conversion u want to do. I was goin to get an auto gsx for good price and convert it to five speed, then i found that article and decided to buy a car with a five speed already in it. I am sooooooooooo glad i did! Trust me man it aint worth it save your money, peace

pricing on dsms vary alot these days. You can basically throw nada and kbb out the window beause for a good 2g gsx (especially 5-speed) you almost have to expect to pay over that. It's all about what people are willing to pay for them. Expect a 97-99 gsx with under 50k thats a 5 speed to go for upwards of 9k or so Id say. theres really no set price for them they are diferent around the country most times. Iv kinda noticed there going for more on each coast, then a lil less in the heartland. But I think its harder to find good low mileage gsx's in the middle of the country vs the east or west coast. peace

Thanks alot for the help again. Iwas wondering on the price because I found an 97 auto GSX with 90 k for $4000 and I was thinking about it. I am in the stage of pricing it now. I just had an interview with a Mazda dealership and I might go with a new Mazda. But again thanks for the info.

BUY IT!! that's a great deal, unless it had been beat on, is in bad shape, or has something wrong with it. the tranmsission swap won't be hard that hard, as long as you have somewhat mechanic skills and have the parts. you'll need the 2g transmission. i don't think the 1g will bolt up, but someone correct me if i'm wrong.
