NEED HELP. HAVE REPLACEMET SPEAKERS ALL SET UP FOR THE DOORS. LOOKING TO REPLACE FACTORY SPEAKERS WITH (6.5" mb quarts dse-216) or (6.5" boston acustics 6.5 system). ASKING THE CROWD, WHAT WHOULD BE BETTER FOR MAXIMUM SOUND? ALSO IS THERE SPEAKERS IN THE DASH? IF SO WHAT ARE THE SIZES? THERE IS NO WEBSITE OUT THERE WITH ANY HELP WITH THAT.

I'd go with the MB Quarts. It has been a number of years since I ventured into car stereo's but at that time 10 years ago I had MBQ's and they were the best speaker out there period. I don't expect they have changed for the worse. Boston Acoustics were OK for the money they were actually pretty good but I still prefer the MBQ's.

If you have an LS I know on the 2004 they did not have speakers in the dash. There is no speaker wiring that I had seen either up there. It wouldn't be hard to run wire though. The panel is held there by clips. You could take a flat screw driver covered with a cloth, pry it up on the side were it actually meets the dash. You can use your fingers from there. The sensor in the middle just uncrews from the panel.

[EDIT] The dash speakers look like 3 1/2 held in with 3 screws. You can look at crutchfield. They use to have speaker sizes to fit oem placement.

Yeah, I was in the same boat with my Jeep. I ended up with Directed Audio and haven't looked back since. They really rock. I have their Directed 300/2 running them. No matter what you get make sure to have good, clean power to run them. Most people mess up getting real nice componets then run them with weak amps.

Right on... Thanks for the input. I will definatly go with the MBQ's. Besids they look nicer. As for the speakers on the dash, thats good to know that i will not have to spend extra. However i just might. I have a custom 10" stealth box going in the rear and a 8" custom box in the center console below the radio. I hope the A12 (alpine 1200watt), rokford fosgate (600, 400, and 200 watts) should do the trick. Ill try to post them up so yall can take a look.
OK ponchonutty TOOK A LOOK AT THE DIRECTED AUDIO. THANKS FOR MESSING UP MY THOUGHT PROCESS. NOW I HAVE TO CONSIDER THOSE. SLIM DESIGN AND ALL. DAMN YOU!!! not really. Till then thanks for the help!!!!
