lights stopped flashing

I have a 2000 Explorer XLT with a remote start. When I unlock or lock the doors the lights would flash. The other night they stopped flashing when I do either. The remote will still lock, unlock, and start but it no longer flashes. Is this a problem with the remote start or remote itself? Any ideas? Thanks
