Tire Question

First I hope this is in the right forum.

I have on my car a set of Contential TouringContacts and I was wondering if anyone knew anyting about these tires. And if they are any good or not. I find I have very little traction with them and I wanted to know if my tiers were worn down (they dont look it) or if they are just not very good tires.

Thanks

under what conditions and driving situations do you feel those tires are inadequate?

They have a bit of a hard compound to enable them to last longer, this sacrifices grip.

I find that on any condition, wet dry, snow. I can spin my front tires and I can sometimes even fishtail the car (and its FWD). On a turn at 35 mph on dry pavement the tires squeal like hell and even while driving forward at 10mph if I floor it correctly I can spin them.

your tires may be too small for the car. On your next set I would go with a wider tire and a more aggressive compound.

They squeal when you go straight? Sounds like you might need an alignment!!

On the main AF page with all the forums listed, at the top left there is a wheels and tires section. There are a ton of very knowledgable people in there that will be able to give you specific info on the tires you are talking about and possible alternatives. I suggest you post in there.
