I just bought a 96 Eclipse GS. What is the best way to run my amp power wire to the battery. I don't see any openings in the firewall.

There should be a rubber gromet(spelling?) that you can run a power wire through. Thats where mine is. If not you could drill a hole but i dont recommend that unless your sure you wont hit anything.

Where around is the gromet located?

I have installed quite a few stereos in my life thus far and I am having a hige issue with my car. I have found the so called grommet I believe, however I can not figure out where it comes into the vehicle. If anyone has any pictures that would be amazing, bloody dsms are impossible to work on!!! :-)

thanks

okay, i have a 96rs and as ghetto and cheap as this sounds, it actually worked quite well. ive installed plenty of amps in past cars and friends cars and ive never ahd a harder time running the power wire than i did in my eclipse. i actually ended up running the wire from the battery down into the fender and along the bottom part of the car then back up under the back seat. like i say, it worked out great for me, no road noise or anything. if you want a more detailed description, let me know and i'll take some pictures and explain more clearly.

Yeah, I am thinking that on the drivers side it is a lot easier to run, however most people do not want to run a power wire across their car and then all the way back. That is like 5-7 extra feet of wire, which you want to try and keep to a minimum. The more power wire that you have to run through, the more voltage you are going to loose at your amp.
