'91 Limited TCC solenoid replace

Is there any easy way to replace the solenoid? It's behind the side cover on left side, looks like one must remove axle and bunch of other things to get cover off. Thank you for any suggestions

The only experience I've had is to pull the tranny out. If there is enough room, you can do it by taking off the wheel and axle, and getting better access from there.
