Biggest Tire Size

What's the biggest tire size anyone has gone to on the stock 16" rims on a 2002 TB LS? The guys at Discount Tire said I "should" be able to go to 265/75r16, which is a 31"+ tire. So I'm geeked. Anyone know if this will work... or even better, if I can go bigger without rubbing? Thanks!

I don't know the anwer for you, but I was told that a 265/50/20 was the biggest that I could go without rubbing, even though I wanted to stick with a 55 series.

Best bet is to call up Tire Rack & see what they say. You'll get faster results than on here :mad:

Hey Northface. Are you rolling on 20" rims? If so how's the ride with a 265/50/20? I'm planning a +3 sizing my 17" OEM rims to 20x8.5 but they recommend a 275/45/20 for a close overall diameter of the stock setup. I'm looking at a 275/50/20 or 275/55/20 without rubbing the tires with my stock height suspension although I'm planning to install an Eibach Pro-Truck Kit #3826.540 (1.5" Front-2.3" Rear) for handling & performance. I have no idea yet if the lowered stance will only fit the 45 series against the 50 series under the fender.

Is that kit you're talking about a lift??? I heard they don't make a lift for the TB yet. Any info??

As always noted...no lifts for our trucks yet, just lowering kits :(

What effect will this have on the accuracy of the odometer? I was wondering about different tire specs myself. I was thinking of going to a 255/70/16 from the stock 245/70/16. Not a huge difference but still a bigger tire. Any thoughts on compatibility?

They make 1" and 3/4" spacers for our truck now, so go with one of those to help with clearance. That's what i'm going to do.

No, still rollin the stockers. I like the ride of the stockers, but would prefer to go with at least a 265-275/50 series in the 20's. I have seen a bunch of TB's with 40 series on there & it just doesn't look right to me. I would prefer as much sidewall as possible in the 20's to help the ride out some. Plus the lousy roads around Chicago will eat up your tires & rims if you aren't careful with low-low tires.
Got a mega dollar house coming (thanks wifey :cya: ) so my buying days are through for quite some time. She knows that I want to get a set, but it's just isn't going to happen any time soon. :disappoin

$261.53 from driverfx.com & the Eibach Pro-Truck Lowering Kit includes front springs (1.5") with rear shackle/hanger (1.5-2.0") but my kit is still in transit so I haven't seen it yet.
