1994 Overheating

I know this has been touched on in a couple of different posts, but I want to make sure I am thinking about this correctly.

I have a 94 GP SE with teh 3.1L. It started overheating a few weeks ago, but the temp gauge would go up to 260 and peg, then if i mashed on the gas it would come back down to normal range. The low coolant light would come on preceeding one of these episodes. At first, this only happened every so often, but as it became more frequent I decided to park the car and see what was going on, as my resevoir had coolant in it.

This weekend my father and changed the t-stat and the water pump and the car is still overheating. The water doesn't seem to be getting into the motor. We used the bleeder valves (just until we had coolant spray out), and the system seems to have plenty of pressure, just not getting into the motor.

As a note, the coolant (green always) seems to have maybe a little oil in it in the resevoir, but the oil seems to be fine (not milky or foamy or anything.) We are afraid it may be the headgasket, but without the steam coming out of the exhaust and no coolant in the oil, the only symptom seems to be the overheating.

Any ideas?

Sean

try bleeding the system again there are three bleeders on the cooling system and if you don't get all the air out you have this problem

3 bleeders? I only knew of two, one at the thermostat and one at the water pump. Where is the third?
