uncoventional method

for all of you that want to roll your rear fenders for drifting...this is a good method to use...(disclaimer: can ruin inside fenders paint) I did this yesterday so i can vouch for it. first must have a lowered 240 for best results. Get a metal baseball bat. (rounder one...not skinny bat). stick in front part of rear fender, between tire and fender. and slowly roll the bat around your tire at 45 degree angle. of course bat will contact with inner fender lip and roll it as you roll the bat around the tire. It worked for me anyways...like the diclaimer said...the part that is being roller...inner fender lip...with most likely destroy paint...but if your a hardcore drifter and are getting tired of the tire rub when your going around corners. i recommend this. this is only really noticeably when on stained drifts...i.e more than one corner...or long donut drifts. happy drifting :smokin:

dont get confused now...it doesnt flare the fenders it rolls them...makes the inside lip less L shaped and more U shaped...i'll go take a quick pic...

Hard to see the roll but if you look at the angle of the lip and then the fender cover...its rolled upward. not a huge amount but it is...and like i said...it will cause paint to chip...was done just yesterday so havent had time to get a coat of red paint to cover up the metal yet...so theres the pics...decided as you will...

He's got his summe rims on the front, you can tell by the Neo-Gen tread on the tire. So driftking, listen to D-Bo.

Oh, we have no salt law here so i wasnt sure.

we get gravel here in SD...and btw i told you it would be really hard to see the fender roll...i dont have a normal fender picture to compare to...so pictures wont do justice...and i have winter tires on the back (becuase they have tread) and summer on the front...because they still have tread also...the neo's stop fine in the snow (no better than a all season tire i suppose) but have all season on the back for better get up and go traction...make sense now? And the rear tires are my drifting tires..also, it just started snowing here today...

baaahhh nonsense, iv been driving my rims through 3 winters now. It doesnt do shit. All you have to do is take care of them. Give them good wax jobs. And i have cheap ass tenzo R rims. So if they dont go to shit...then i wouldnt expect a "good" set to either. Of course if i had a good set i wouldnt drive them in the winter anyway because well the slippery wreck part is unpreventable. And who wants a bent ass rim that is expensive to replace.

well the reason i have just the rear stock rims is becuase i bought them from a friend of mine...i dont have the stock rims...and i need some drift/winter rims...im looking at aquirings some other rims for the back also...or all the way around...want some cheapies

thank you nizmo..and that my friends is why its hard to see the roll...its not exactly as exaggerated as the drawing...but its more U shaped...only way you would see it in the pics is if it was shaded alittle better...anywho...thanks nizmo

np, yeah, i tried to exagerate it a bit, so they could see it better, nice mod though, might do it before i repaint my car this spring

hate to copy your idea but the fenders being right over the tires was bugging me...like you said though it was more for showing what a rolled fender looks like...but his is a more technical drawing for people that dont know what fender rolling is for...

If you notice since the inner fender is normally L shaped when cornering hard tires may rub fender lip, when rolled (making it more V or U shaped) when corning hard gives and extra 1/2 inch or so for the tire to clear...just to try to explain my self to the newbs before the ask what rolling is for..

i understand what its for man.. you just didn't take clear pictures of what you did.. try standing back and getting a shot of the top half of the rim and then as much of the fender as possible so we can see the final product.. position your camera so its looking up more than horizontal

will try to do...maybe i'll jack up the ass end so the tire gets alittle out of the way

yea unemployment isnt really the greatest because im only making $256 a week but working only 40 hours a week i was only making $340, so after gas and lunches and shit...im really only making like 50 dollars more to work all week...so i like being laid off
