The cat-back i plan on getting "HKS Hi-Power" is supposively a Stainless Steel Muffler with Alluminized Piping? Does this mean after like a year my piping is going to fall to crap?

Yes....well maybe not a year, but if you drive it in the winter, it won't last that long.

actually it shouldnt rust at all (technically) the simplest way to put alluminized is to say this...Take your standard mesh fence poll....and bend it into an exhaust...thats alluminized...def. not stainless...but should last awhile....atleast 3 years...

that makes me feel better seeing that the exhaust is like 510...canyone hear anything good about it? I dont want the N1s or GTs by Apex for the fact that theyre loud...I need something my mom wont notice very well..:D

Get the GReddy PE2, like the N1, but much quieter.

aluminum is used because the oxide coating formed with aluminum is much more resistive to oxidation than the regular iron based steel.
i guess many people havent heard 240s with exhausts... the blitz nurspec racing exhaust is far and away the best sounding one ive ever heard. a friend of mine has the hks cat, and it just doesnt sound very deep, and theres a silencer with most of em, so you can fool your mom, and then yank it out on the street for more fun...
the 3" blitz isnt all that loud, its deep and thumpy, but not high pitch and raspy, so it sounds damn good, and you arent left saying, damn that is one loud ass car when it rips by

isnt there an option to have it powder coated or someshit black??? i could swear there is. But 3 inch exhaust on a ka will sound loud anyway. If you have a turbo it will sound more appropriate. I have 2.5 inch custom with header and cat....and the hi-power muffler. Sounds nice, but when you romp it, it gets loud but doesnt every exhaust? Its just not ricey sounding. Its kind of deep and throaty.

So youre pleased with the HKS Hi-Power Chuki? Im sold on either the HKS Hi-Power or the Apex'i N1 Exhaust(non duals). Only 40 dollars in difference.......sooooo....i think its gonna come down tot he sound factor(Hi-Power) unless for some reason the Apex'i Makes a considerable amount of Tq. and Hp more.

yes im very satisfied but keep in mind i just have the hi-power muffler welded on to my custom exhaust. And im sure the header affects the noise too. But the hi-power should sound fine if you buy the complete catback set-up. And will sound good also when if you plan on going turbo in the future. Go to the hks website they have sound clips...of course all the cars are turbo. I think, i havent looked on the sight in a while to see if they have NA cars on there.

Does the HKS Hi-Power have to be welded? I would think so regarding how long the box would have to be.
