Unfortunately, it's roughly a thousand bucks. Call a bunch of shops and get some estimates. The dealership aka Satan will charge you a lot more, some private mechanics might do it for $600 or so. It's about the same labor as doing a HG, with a little extra work taking the cams off and compressing/decompressing all of the valve springs.

Are you in CA or NY? 96spyderman just had an estimate for $1500 at the dealer... Just thought I would throw that out to ya.

They will be doing the whole HG job ober again, and you'll need another HG. I personally dont see the point. While the head is off drive it over to a machinist. Mine would charge me about 40 bucks to do that job. Maybe less. Seals themselves are 20 bucks. The time to do it is when the head is off.
and have them check the side play on the guides too. If the guides are bad hte new seals will last about 100-1000 miles in my personal experience. Guides get pricy, but why go through all the labor and expense of the HG and valve seal swap to NOT fix the problem. Guides are around 150 a set IIRC, and labor to install will vary. I get a full head rebuild done for less than 300 including new guides though, so it cant be too bad. Also have the head checked for flatness while its at the machinists. If its out of spec, now is the time to get it planed. Worst case scenario you end up basically paying the 250-300 for a head rebuild, and get it fixed right the first time. ;)
Don't do shit twice, it just wastes money.
