1988 regal odometer failure

The odometer has stopped at 98,000 miles. It has a digital insterment panel. I have already found out these insturment panels are faulty I have heard of the odometers stopping at 26,000 & 30,000 miles. I keep hearing from people to have it repaired, but what good would it do to have a faulty insturment panel repaired it will just fail again. Does anyone know of any company's that make after market instument panel replacements for the regal.
