Help with a plane (1/100 DC-10)???

Hey Guys
Ive got a problem.
Ive bought the Doyusha 1/100 DC-10 model kit.
The fuselage is split in two vertically, as per the norm. Modelers that build the kit to spec will notice a seam-line that goes right down the middle of the plane. This is undesirable as this is highly unrealistic. Hence I need to fill it with putty, then sand it down, then prime, then paint with a few coats of white.
Now, the instructions require you to build the interior of the plane (theres not much of it), before the two sides are glued together. Now, if I didn’t have to putty, I would paint the two sides when they are apart. That way I get no overspray onto the many windows. But I am puttying. And I do need to paint over it. And the fuselage has to be together when that happens. So who do I go around painting the fuselage without the overspray onto the windows? Don’t tell me that I have to mask each and every window…….
Can you see my dilemma here guys? Any advice would be appreciated.

I will post pics of the problem when I get home.

Mask over the windows once the fuselage is joined.

Mask over the windows once the fuselage is joined.
What? Each and every one? All 200 or so of them? Remembering how small they are? Or do you mean put a fin strip over them? Then i would end up with un-even paint wouldnt i?

Well, if you used liquid mask it wouldn't be difficult.

It's been more than 10 years since I built an airliner but it answered well for me then.
