There are a million threads on the subject. Search.

you won't find one lying around somewhere... individuals who took the time to legalize here won't sell it that easily either... search around for more info.
the process is extremely time consuming and costly... for legal cases...

first off what is your age?
what is your spending amount?
cuz i dont want to help you if your some 15-16 year old kid who just saw initial d and is all crazy about 240s now and has no idea what he is getting into. You need $$cash$$ if you want it to be street legal as in can be driven on roads and have no worries with the popo. Other than that its strictly show use for you. But im not sure if there are any street legal silvias or 180sx in the states i cant remember. As iv heard there are NO s15's legally street driven in america. But in super street there was a place in texas that had a silver one, but i dont think it was streetable. Then a few threads ago a kid said he saw some in california...dont no if it was bs or not but, seeing is believing so.... Once i see an s15 pass me on the free way ill believe it.

If I saw an S15 pass me on the freeway, it would be time to attempt to lay down the law. Hopefully after my fuel system is taken care of. Maybe he'll be as shocked to see a KA-T as I am to see a S-15.

beep beep beep MTV news alert ur fucking retarded! there is no such thing as a RHD 240 unless someone was dumb enough to spend thousands on converting it to a RHD which would be about as gay as u are. silivas and 180's on the other hand they are RHD but w/ ur measly 10 k u wont get that and why waste ur time trying. take my advice go get the new honda truck get some neons some 22 inch fake spinners and put lambo doors on it then get a GTR emblem for the front and never talk to us again. and ur "imported 240" what does that mean we import silvias not 240's because 240's are already here

1. Search for old threads before posting stupid ones that have already been answered.
2. It would cost a LOT to do a conversion, and for what? So you look cool? I can think of a lot better ways to spend 10K on a car.
3. (it would be funny to take a 240 to Japan :) )

the answer to your question is that you can't legally import an s15 unless you own a shop but even then you're years away from affording it (let alone OWNING a shop..) and as mentioned above, you can't import a 240sx unless you're exporting it from north america to another country. north america is where the 240sx originated.. japan is where the silvia originated.. maybe you need to learn the differences between a silvia and 240sx before you buy one

its a good thing i asked those two questions in my first post. I guessed right. I have to agree actually learn something about these cars before you purchase. THere already getting rarer, and no one wants to see a 240 go to waste...which it sounds like you want to "pimp" one out because you've already started with the dumb questions. So i wouldnt expect you to know what a turbo or coilovers are. I would expect you to know something along the lines of body kit, muffler, street glow. THese are no no's as most 240 owners will tell you. If you want the super cool space craft car join the honda civic club. Not bashing on civics but the majority of them are rice. There is a minority of tuned civics. So happy hunting and plz dont buy a 240 untill you do some more research.

The poll is stupid, and yes, if you want a space craft, buy a civic.

and as to my uber usjdm...240sx h/b are a 180sx in japan...thus the 240 really came from japan (design wise) and since the 240sx was built in the US i just decided to call my 240 a usjdm...just some shit i came up with...i just think it would be funny ass hell to import a US 240 to japan...specially with all the US people going there to get 180's and sil 80's

drumpet: thats what i mean.. you just stated something thats already been said..
driftking: yeah, the 240 was designed in japan but never built there.. the specs on a 240 vs a silvia have many dissimilarities, mainly in terms of safety equipment but primarily in powertrain.. you know what i mean.. a usdm 240 was never sold brand new in japan cause they were for the american market only.. just like the silvia was built for pretty much everywhere but north america

Actually, from my experiences back home... Japanese are inreality extremely fond of LHD or basically "imported" in their point of views. Some actually prefer left handed domestics, or even USDM based japanese cars. So taking a USDM 240sx to Japan might actually stand out and be respected depending on where you are. Just put yourself in their shoes... of course Japanese will have higher quality in everything but it's always good to have something different.
i remember this Tokyo Auto Show i was watching online and one of the head directors of Yashio Factory was talking about his (of course) pink S15. He was asked what the most interesting part about the car was... (now this car fully modded as you can presume... inside and out.. that's how it's done in japan) anyway, he answered "the strut tower bars are actually made from pillars we cut off from the factory building, so if this car fails... so does the factoty (he's speaking figuratively)..." The host was asking what he would like to say since this was being broadcasted in America under BMI ... so he also added that "eh... what do the Americans know anyway, whatever they try it won't be anything near our level... haha, they aren't too smart."
omfg.. i was fukin rolling on the floor with that one... GOOD sh!t !!! I'm so glad i know japanese... sorry jus rambling..

Sorry, d-bo. I just happen to have the same opinions as some of these people. Just because I can't post mine first doesn't mean that I don't have a certain opinion on things.

true... that's All-American style... everything works with "bigger is better"...
One thing i dislike about drag here is nitrous oxide... (this is an exception to the 10,000 liter v-12 cars...haha) Japan drags never used it until recently. i've seen 2.7 liter turbos that can run high 8's w/o nos in Japan. it's all about efficiency... it's only obvious it'll be fast if you add more cylinders to it... there's no skill/knowledge in that. sorry i jus respect the Japanese racing industry a lot more than others. it's just an opinion don't take it the wrong way. ps- try not to use the word "japs" ... it's P.I. Plus i rather be 'jap' then a redneck.
