Do you guys know of any V8 converted 3000gt/stealths? i just saw this V8 converted starquest and started wondering if it was doable on a 3000gt/stealth becouse i think these cars wuld make a cool RWD car

I've seen a V8 drag car for sale on ebay, I The only thing that made it a stealth was the body lol.

ohh man. tease car's wuld be awsome with a V8 still baybe it's no simple task to fit a v8 in the hood its so low that the big 8cylender beast may not fit to good in there

the V6 barely fits in there, no way a V8 will :)

you'd be surprised what money and fabrication can do. Yes, i know of one person with a v8 in his car, he calls it a vr440, cause its got a 440 in it i believe. If you search it on 3si, you'll find out more about it

well as you can see this guy did fit a 5L v8 in his conquest wich were only 2.6L so i think its possible.... the main thing that i think prevents it being easy on the stealths is the transmission there is realy no good place for it!

Just the other day i saw a bore stroke kit for the 6g72 block. to make it a 3.2 or a 3.3L has anyone done this to their car here?

where did you see/find this bore and stroke kit? i'm curious. i've never seen one, but that could really help us make some more power, torque especially for the NA guys.

The stroker kits are known to be bad news for these cars. As far as V8's there are a few V8 converted 3s's. As was mentioned VR440 is one and there are a few others.

do you guys know of any pics of thease cars?

http://www.importperformanceparts.net/imports/strokerkits_mitsu.html here is the stroker kit

and here are better pistons used by the "stealth316" guy.... this shuld make more displacement as well http://www.stealth316.com/2-venolia.htm

right, but with vr440, he mounted his engine for rwd, and and doesnt have a 3/S tranny in it either, but i'm not sure the full set up on it. I just know that the engine and tranny are mounted orthogonal to a stock 3/S.

engine and tranny are mounted ORTHOGONAL to a stock 3/S.

orthogonal...haha, good word Hotshot. i like to see and hear a little engineering jargon every once in a while.

ya, so its orthogonal mounting position is almost requisite for RWD applications as the transmission interface is much simpler and readily available. I've spoken with some auto technicians, and have found out that the transversely mounted engine in our cars is ideal for introducing the same engine upon different chassis. but transversely mounted engines don't make the RWD interface easy. if you look at the 300ZX and the Supra, their engines are both longitudinal. the former being a "V" configuration while the latter is an inline. However, i'll give it up to the mitsu engineers for throwing in the AWD package on the VR4. good choice!

As stated go to 3si and search for stroker. You will see reviews on the kit. The way it is done it is bound to break quickly. You are better off just going with a slight overbore for more displacement.

well mabey you could look in to a cadillac V8 or a Arura... they have side ways v8s lol mabey someone can take a V8 out of one of them mabey even find a all wheel drive tranny for one. Yes the engine mounts will be different but its better then refabricateing the car... though you might need to do a little but not as much as a rearwheel drive tranny...

Ohh man thease cars wuld have made such a nice ride instead of the FF but i wuld still like the 4wd on the turbo ones. such a shame that they did not make them rwd actualy i not to shure that MMC made a car after the MMC Starion that had a rear wheel drive or is there?

One of the main reasons 3s's were not made rwd was because of the Viper. It was in its development stages at the same time as these and Dodge convinced Mitsubishi it didnt want these cars to be up there competing in the same class as it.
