Flasher Relay Clicking

My flasher relay clicks non-stop.All the blinkers and hazards work but it just never stops clicking.i tried replacing it but it didnt do me any good.the clicking stoped but the blinkers wouldnt work.Im not sure if i bought the rong relay or what but it didnt help.Could there be any thing else causing the horrable clicking and anyother way to fix it?

The problem you are having is due to the electrical contacts within the multifunction switch which includes turn signals, high beam switch, and high beam flasher. The indicator flasher is also attached to this switch. What has happened is that the lubricant has become too conductive and even when the electrical contacts are separated the grease is conductive enough to allow current flow and cause the lights to flash.
Your options are to replace the whole assembly (~$150) or CAREFULLY pry it apart with several small screwdrivers. The assembly is really not designed to be serviced, but it can be done with care. When you get it apart be very careful not to diassemble more than is necessary. There are many little parts--springs, wires, contacts, etc. Wipe off the grease on the contacts which are actuated by the turn signal and apply a light coating of new grease. White lithium grease has worked for me. Non-conductive silicon greases will not work. Silicon grease will prevent contact from happening and the turn signals will not work.

Go to a u pull it junk yard and get the part for 5 bucks.

That works! The effort to get the part out and fix it will probably take less time than pulling two units (one in your car and one in the junk yard). Also, the "fixed" should last longer. The pulled unit is likely to be near the same state of disrepair which will need to be addressed in the near future. The problem is a poor selection of materials--the grease is dissolving the copper contacts and becoming too conductive.
