recently i just put a new alternator and a new voltage regulator in my 1980 Toyota pickup. for awhile everything went good, then the charge light came on, but when i put in my alternator i charged my battery fully, and the alternator should be charging the battery back up everytime i drive it, i have no idea what is wrong, i check for shorts in the wiring but couldn't find anything, so any help for what is wrong would be appreciated

well typically not charging indicates a bad alternator, id take it out and bring it to a automotive store so they can run a test on it, if by chance they sold you a defective alternator, it should be covered under warrenty. you might also want to make sure the wires coming from the alternator and not shorting out some where.
Hope this helps

Rebuilt parts have a high failure rate. Take it back and have it checked.
