a friend of mine just got a 2003 vw gti 1.8....
it has 30k miles, and what kinda oil does everyone use...he liked mobil 1 so he plans to put it back in there...what grade would he need???
then also how many qts does it need???

It uses 4.3quarts w/ filter change.
Use any 5w30 or 10w30. Prefer to use synthetic because its better for turbo.
