well i had a 1990 ls motor in my car, to make a long story short the engine use to leak alot of oil and eventually broke down on me. I didnt really care what was wrong with the engine, all i knew is that i wanted a low mileage engine that didnt leak. i found a guy who does import swaps and i found a 1995 ls engine. when i went to get the 1995 engine i told the guy at the junkyard to give me the ecu computer for the 1995 engine i got it and went through with the swap. after the swap the guy handed me the ecu that came with the new engine and said it was the wrong one. he said i needed an obd 1 or 2 or something. i am currently running on the old ecu that came with the 1990 ls. Is that bad for my car? what do i need obd 1 or 2? after the swap, i know have the 1995 ls engine in my 1990 car body does that mean that my redline has also changed to the 1995 ls's 7 1/2 or is it still at the regular 6 1/2? please someone explain this to me.

so how did you get everything on the wiring harness to fit ? if your still using the obd1 dist and o2 sensor, then run a obd1 ecu. if your using all hte obd0 stuff then you can keep your obd0 ecu

that is a good question i thought that it would be hard for that to happen from what i could tell it looks like he repositoned alot of things to make it fit in like a 1990 engine would. the ecu that came with the 1990 is what is in there now and i think he used my old o2 sensor as well. but what about my redline did it change or is it the same as before?
