Speaker instillation in a 98 jetta

I am trying to install new rear speakers into a 1998 Jetta GL, however, I cannot get the rear deck off. I have removed the bolt and the three clips but it is not budging. And I don't want to force anything and damage it. How do I get this bugger off? Help!
