I am installing a high output alternator rated at 250 amps. Will this higher amperage have any adverse effect on my ECM or other electronic components? 2002 blazer 4X4 4.3L vin W with oem stereo/cd.

it shouldn't, but why are you upgrading?

I need to be able to recharge a 100 amp/hr deep cycle battery in the field. I haven't decided exactly how i want to do the hardwiring (type of isolator and wire size) but I can use jumper cables for now as long as the alternator is in. I will be using a 1000 watt inverter to power a 200 watt cpap machine for my sleep apnea. Its a great machine. I haven't slept this good in years, and I want to bring it camping with me.

Hell, with a 250, you can run your sleep apnea machine, and 5 Amps! LOL.... 250 will be good for that. Use 0 or 1 gauge wire for the main wire, and 10-8 gauge for the inverter...

Hunter where did you get your alternator? If you do a search I am trying to geyt one installed, but DB electric sent me ( I am assuming) two bad alternators. The first the voltage spike up to 19 volts. The second one would not make above 12 volts.
Curious to see where you got yours and if your having any issues after install.
rilth - Installed what DB Electric reccomended (4 awg) between the alternator postive post and the postive term on the battery. What, or where is this Inverter wire? I am wondering if becuase my wire there is still factory size that it is causing my problem. Unless by inverter you meaning something Hunter is using>?
