I seem to be having same problem as seen by other threads, Tahoe won't start some times at 1/4 tank or less of gas. Add a couple gallons and it starts and runs fine. This has happened twice now. I heard the fix is replace whole fuel pump assembly. I imagine this is difficult to do? Seems to be alot of these cases, have they made a better pump? If one replaces will it just be damaged again in 40k -50k miles? If dealer replaces, do they warranty it so the next time I don't have the high cost again? Thanks for any suggestions.

I have had the same problem as you.Won't crank, put gas in it,crank. The problem is your fuel pump, the fuel gauge sensor is part of the assembly. After my 5th pump on 3 tahoes, I asked the dealer for an extended warranty on the pump,no problem 100,000 miles done deal.It was easier than buying the truck, they know its junk.
