1998 Bravada "Click-Click-Click"

It is great to find a place for Bravada questions finally!
I have a problem that maybe someone out there has encountered with thier 1998 Bravada: The blinker relay behind my glove box continues to click all the time (like a mentronome), the only time it stops is when I press on the brake. The blinkers work fine and so does the hazards. I replaced the switch on the break peddle arm, but that did not work. I isolated that switch and the blinking stops, but then the brake lights are on all the time (it must be a mercury, or mag swith?). So currently I have to put up with the constant "click, click, click!" Any leads or ideas?
Thank you,
Reinman

Start by changing out the flasher relay, if that doesn't fix it, more than likely it is the Multi-Function Switch.

Do you happen to know how much this multi function switch is? And, is this the exact name of the part needed or is that a guess? I read the threads you provided, and it seemed there were different parts names flying around.
Changing the flasher relay did nothing to stop the problem.
Thank you for your posts!
Sincerely,
Reinman

I don't know how much from the dealer, but they are about:
$160 at http://www.buy-oem-parts.com/storefront.htm
$140 at http://www.rockauto.com
The proper name is multi-function switch, but they are more likely to understand if you say turn signal switch.

So Blazee,
Is this the switch that goes in the steering column? And if so, can I install that myself without triggering the airbag?!

That is correct it is the switch in the steering column. I haven't had to do this repair on mine, yet, so I'm not able to tell you how hard of a job it will be. You can do it yourself. I would highly recommend buying a Haynes manual ($17) for your truck. It will tell you how to disable the airbag before you start and give you step by step instructions on how to do almost every repair you will ever need to do on your vehicle.
