info on TH350 tranny

can anyone tell me anything about the 350 turbo tranny? my friend might sell me one for pretty cheap its really nice he took it out of his 2wd truck bc he put the body on a 4wd lifted and put a 3spd in it and he has the 350 turbo sittin there on a frame with a 350. i dont know anythin about the 350turbo and i want something a lil more sporty to put in my truck than mine, iv got the 700 tranny with the overdrive. is it a 4 speed wut and wut will i need to do to my drive train to make it fit? thanks

well I know that the TH 350s are very strong trannys but they are only a three speed. If your truck is a 2wd, it should bolt right up I believe. The 700r4 is a four speed. I have an 86 k10 with the 700r4 and it seems to be a pretty solid unit as well. If your tranny doesnt have any problems, I wouldn't mess with it. Just put it in drive instead of overdirve if you want a three speed. If you want more performance, put in lower gears in the rearend.

The tailshaft on the TH350 is shorter, thus you will need to lengthen your drive shaft. As the previous poster stated, they are a stout tranny and they have NO Overdrive. If you do alot of pulling and heavy loads a TH350 or TH400 is for you.

thanks guys ya i do like my 700r4 now in it and i really do like dont have ne probs that i kno of, i do do alot of travelin on the highways and i do want more top end but i also like to race my truck and iv kinda been wantin a 400turbo but i knew nothing about a 350 turbo and my friend offered to sell it to me, but neways thanks

TH400's are hard to come by!
