My 94 headlamp covers are "chalking" very badly. I have had them sanded and buffed with rubbing compound and it brought them back a good bit but they have chalked up again, any solution? Sand and buff and then spray with clear enamel? Has the Ford company done anything about the plastic covers? They cost about $80 each.

The solution you used needs regular maintenance. The sanding / polishing works, most say it works GREAT!!
However, everyone also says they need maintenance.
Here's a link to the whole process, including maintenance. (http://www.lincolnsonline.com/article19.html)

Thank you for the link. The detail is much better than what I was planning on doing but it should make a much better job. Thanks again. Lou

That works awesome. Thanks Town Car. I didn't have a power sander, but I sanded the lamps by hand and buffed them with a machine when done. It looks like I put on 2 new headlamps. I'm glad I didn't buy new assemblies. Oddly enough this 95 was the only Lincoln I have owned that had yellowed lamps. Judging by the way my car sucked up a bottle of Zymol, I doubt the first owner knew what wax was.
