Welcome to the forum. Programming instructions should be listed in your owners manual if you can't find them call Pontiac customer service. Also there is a sticky in the Grand AM forum on how to program and a thread that I posted in the firebird forum. The instructions may be different on the Grand Prix though. Good Luck

The instructions I have are this:
HOW:
(1) REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION SWITCH.
(2) REMOVE THE 'MALL PGM FUSE' FROM THE FUSE BOX.
(3) CLOSE ALL THE DOORS.
(4) TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO THE 'ACC' POSTION.
(5) WITHIN 1 SECOND TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH BACK TO 'OFF' THEN BACK TO 'ACC'.
(6) OPEN AND CLOSE THE DRIVERS DOOR A CHIME WILL SOUND INDICATING PROGRAMMING MODE ACTIVATED.
(7) TO PROGRAM THE REMOTE PROCEED AS FOLLOWS:
a) PRESS AND HOLD REMOTE TRANSMITTER LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTONS UNTILL A CHIME SOUNDS TWICE, APX 14 SECONDS.
b) REPEAT ABOVE PROCEDURE FOR EACH REMOTE TRANSMITTER.
(8) REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION SWITCH.
(9) REFIT 'MALL PGM' FUSE.
NOTE: EXISTING REMOTE TRANSMITTER MEMORY POSITIONS WILL BE OVERWRITTEN.
(10) OBTAIN AND REPROGRAM ALL REMOTE TRANSMITTERS.
NOTE: A MAXIMUM OF 4 REMOTE TRANSMITTERS CAN BE PROGRAMMED.
***ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK SETTINGS CAN BE SET TO RESPOND TO THE REMOTE TRANSMITTERS.
The only problem I am having is that I can't find which fuse the MALL PGM is...In my Grand Prix there is no fuse labeled that way. Any ideas?

if your 2004 is the same as the 2002,it will be in your glove box(right side behind compartment which you will have to pull out).i purchased a set of instructions off ebay for 5 bucks.i wish i would have seen this forum before i spent the money.

i emailed a guy on ebay that was selling keyless remotes and he gave me the instructions free. i have tried to program two new remotes and i can't get them to work at all.

Do you mean that it is with the other fuses on the right side of the dash on the passengers side? I already pulled the panel off and don't see anything that resembles MALL PGM. There is a little key on the panel to tell you what fuse goes to what, but I am at a loss when it comes to this. It's so frustrating, I have the remote (off ebay) and the instructions but can't find the fuse they talk about. I would hate to have to bring it in and spend lots of $ for it!

"For some reason I remember a post about this a while ago. The link above is for Pre-04 cars. I think our cars have a different procedure and that it couldn't be done except for at the stealership. I could be wrong as I have never done it, but I will keep searching for that thread.
