02 GT mustang VS modded 350Z

Theres this guy who lives around here who I always see on friday/saturday nights and we always race. So I pulled up next to him..he rolled down his window and asked "Round 8?" and pointed forward. Light turned green. I spun too much. Didn't have a chance. Next light. "Round 9?" Sure. Light turns green I launch pretty good and hold at his bumper and he slowly pulls away. He's got a handful of bolt ons and I'm stock. So yeah. As soon as I get my gears/exhaust/tires I'm going to surprise him. :devil:

Well goodluck against him next time. The 350Z and the 99+ GT stangs are almost completely even 1/4 mile wise (Though the 350Z will murder your stang, stock for stock, in the turns). Gears really help out a stang. I hope you go 3.73 or steeper. An H-Pipe would help you out too. Let us know how your next race turns out. Remember that gears help out only slightly, as your goal is to get out of the hole quicker, but that will only work if you've got grip. My advise is to buy some drag radials, and then see how much catch up he has to do (P.S. buy line lock with the DR's, so that you can heat them up good).

I think he has to have FI, because I was reading about Igor's car that it doesn't really respond well to boltons.

even if it doesnt respond well to boltons they are pretty dead even stock for stock, if he launches better than you and then has the boltons you would def see the diference
