I just bought a '96 Firebird 3.8 manual. After getting the car home I have been having trouble getting it started. Apparently there is a switch that needs to be depressed with the clutch when you are starting it. Well...after fiddling around and seeing what was up I managed to pop it out of position. I now cant even manage to get the thing started. Is there anyway I can cut out the need for the switch? Or perhaps buy a switch and just flip it and start the car? Please help!

Its not recommended but yes you can remove the neutral safety switch.just clip the wires and hook them together.I had to do that to mine because i went from a 4 speed standard to an automatic.no big deal but remember that after you do that you dont have to push the clutch in to start the motor.
