Hey guys, ive got more than enough time and knowledge of metal working like welding and cutting. I sold my dsm and Im setting out to do something way different and get everyones attention. I dont really want to give my idea away but im just wondering, if i swap a 13b turbo into another car, thats not a mazda at all, what all will i need? Ive got the engine and its accesories, turbo, intercooler, transmission, ecu, and an uncut wiring harness. I completely understand it will be a lot of work and ill be welding new stuff here and there and cutting of some things. So what else do i need? Will i need to go to a junkyard and take the driveshaft and whole rear axle from an rx7? Im determined to have a very unique car and i love the rotary engine. So can you guys help me out. Thanks

Well for starters you'll have to custom fab some motor mounts and you'll have to have the drive shaft made at a machine shop. You can use any rear that you want just have the ujoints adapted to the drive shaft that go to the rear you're useing.

this is true... the rx-7 rear ends are pretty decent though, if you get the turbo or GTUs versions that is... but it sounds like you know your stuff so you should be able to make a lot of stuff work... I don't know a ton about the drive shaft, I would think you could just put a 7 drive shaft in but maybe fcdriver knows more about it than me haha good luck though, and don't put it in anything front wheel drive or heavy hahaha :)

Well they could put a RX-7 drive shaft in it but I doubt it would reach from the trans to the rear but if it will by all means use one.

ahhh I didn't consider that, good point... I guess it will depend on the car

if the shaft is too long, you can have it shortened as well.
