brakes one last time

Hi All,

Let me hit this one more time. Okay, 1991 c1500 2 wheel drive with a 350. I have been having problems with the brakes. Here's what I have changed so far. Replaced the master cylinder, replaced both wheel cycliners, replaced rear brake shoes.

Now when I press on the brakes when it is running I can see air bubbles in the fluid at the master cyclinder. Each time I press the brakes, I get air bubbles. Any ideas? This is getting real frustrating, the brake light does not go out.

Alright, you have told us that you did not bleed your brakes.... so whats your question???

Dude, since you cannot figure out this problem.....you REALLY SHOULD NOT be working on your brakes. I would STOP any and all repairs you got goin on to this vehicle with the brake issue, and have it TOWED to a shop. DO NOT drive it if you dont even know what went wrong. Chances are you replaced a couple of things you probably didnt even need. In any case, keep yourself safe, have this vehicle TOWED (not driven) to someone or someplace that know the basics atleast. Soory, I'm not trying to critisize you, just trying to keep some people safe, including yourself...

Well I thought that it would have been obvious that I bleed the brakes. I did bleed the brakes, I've checked it the shop manual that I have, but it did not give any implications as to what would cause this.

Thanks for your opinion, I asked the question looking for some insight that others may have had with this poblem. Since you seem to have none, thanks anyway. I have been working on vehicles for a very long time. I have always been safe, never hurt anyone, including myself. I just asked a question, hoping for some input to this very frustrating problem. Even when I worked as a mechanic in a shop there were things that some of us couldn't figure out so we asked others :-)

well, if you still got air bubbles, you still need to bleed the brakes. You put on quite a few new components and will probably take alkot more to properly bleed the brakes as it normally would. Only other thing I could possibly think of is you power booster and/or any seals in and around the master cylinder/power booster area. I'd try bleeding them again first though.

did you bleed the master cyl (alot) before you put it on??

could possibly be dirty threads going into the master cylinder?... maybe somehow they're letting air in, but not brake fluid out. Also, did you bench bleed the master cylinder before installing it? I forgot to when I did mine, and it had air bubbles coming out for awhile.
